Rabbit has been known for centuries as one of most efficient, cleanest and healthiest meats. They produce approximately six pounds of meat with the same feed and water it takes a steer to produce one pound of meat. Raised on small family farms in the Midwest, Durham Ranch Rabbits are fed a combination of grains, plant protein and alfalfa, and are raised without the use of antibiotic growth promotants, hormones or animal bi-products. Rabbits have virtually no fat and are very high in protein.
